On the anniversary of the Queen’s death, September 8, 2022, the royal met family at Balmoral Castle in Scotland, where the monarch breathed her last. Just in time for her death, her son Charles, his wife Camilla and Princess Anne arrived to be close to the dying Queen one last time.
Meghan was probably not wanted on her deathbed
But not all royals were desired on the deathbed. Meghan, Prince Harry’s wife, was expressly invited to the sad family gathering. According to an insider, Charles made it very clear to Harry that it wasn’t appropriate for Meghan to be around family during these sad hours.
According to the British newspaper, Prince Harry was “The Sun” was so upset after this conversation that he missed his flight and later even canceled a dinner together.

Harry was so busy arguing with his family and convincing them that Meghan could come that he missed a flight to Scotland with his brother William. Like William, he arrived too late: he only landed in Aberdeen shortly after the death of the Queen was publicly announced.
Harry refused to have dinner with his father
Prince Harry was then driven to Balmoral. There, his father invited him to dinner with Camilla and William, but Harry declined. Instead, he appears to have mourned at Balmoral Castle, along with his uncles Andrew and Edward.
The anger gripped Harry to such an extent that he left Balmoral as soon as possible the next morning to fly back to London. An insider told The Sun. At a quarter to ten he took a flight to return to his wife Meghan at Windsor Castle.
Although Harry canceled dinner, William invited him and Meghan to go for a walk with Kate the following day.

King Charles expresses love for Harry and Meghan
King Charles was also forgiving: in his first speech as the new head of state on Friday, September 9, he dedicated loving words to Harry and Meghan. “I want mine too love to Harry and Meghan to express that continues to be one life overseas,” he said during his televised address.
It’s been over two years since the couple distanced themselves from the royal family and started a new life in California. Despite this, with the permission of his father, Charles III, Harry was allowed to wear a uniform during the wake honoring his late grandmother on September 17 – as well as the other seven grandchildren of the Queen. The day after the funeral, Harry and Meghan said goodbye and flew back to California.
