Ex-US President Trump was extremely active in online networks during his tenure. But because of his role in the storming of the Capitol, the main platforms blocked him. Now Trump wants to set up his own network.
Former US President Donald Trump has presented plans for his own online network. The “TRUTH Social” platform will be launched as a test version in November “to stand up to the tyranny of Big Tech,” said Trump. Large online networks such as Twitter and Facebook banned the ex-president from their platforms at the beginning of the year.
“We live in a world where the Taliban have a large presence on Twitter, but your favorite American president has been silenced,” Trump said. “This is unacceptable.” That is why he founded the Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG). In addition to the online network, TMTG will also launch a video service that will concentrate on politically incorrect entertainment formats.

Trump was highly active on online networks during his tenure, particularly on Twitter. Critics accuse him of provoking the storming of the Capitol during the formal confirmation of the election victory of Trump’s challenger in the presidential election, Joe Biden, on January 6th. The most important online networks then blocked his profiles.
