After FC Bayern’s Champions League game against Galatasaray Istanbul on Wednesday, state security is now investigating a skirmish between an Istanbul fan and a Munich resident. He, a 21-year-old, approached his opponent, a 43-year-old from North Rhine-Westphalia, at around 3:50 a.m. in a bar on Maximiliansplatz about his fan scarves and insulted him in a xenophobic manner.
The younger man then stated that he was Jewish and showed a necklace with a Star of David. Now he was insulted with anti-Semitic insults, whereupon he left the bar and called the police. Charges of insult were filed against the two people involved.
