After fatal stabbing in Landshut – man turns himself in to the police – Bavaria

In Landshut, a 46-year-old man is said to have stabbed an acquaintance and fled. However, the man was recognized in the course of a public search and presented himself to the Landshut police inspection on Sunday evening, as the police headquarters in Lower Bavaria announced.

The alleged perpetrator, the victim and another man had previously met on the street on Saturday evening. There is said to have been a scuffle between the three men. The 46-year-old suddenly stabbed a 33-year-old, probably with a knife. The perpetrator inflicted such serious injuries on the younger man that the victim died a little later.

The 46-year-old was initially able to escape, and the police searched for him with numerous emergency services. A police helicopter and search dogs were also deployed.

According to the police, it is not yet clear what caused the altercation and the investigation is ongoing. The suspect is due to appear before a magistrate on Monday.
