After demanding an apology from the Argentine national team and its captain Lionel Messi, a member of the government was fired.
A position that cost dearly. The Argentine Undersecretary of State for Sports, Julio Garro, had asked, in recent hours, Lionel Messi to apologize to France after the racist chants towards certain players of the Blues. “The captain of the national team must also apologize for this matter, as must the president of the AFA.”demanded Julio Garro.
“The Office of the President informs that no government can tell what to comment, what to think or what to do to the Argentine national team, world champion and two-time champion of South America, or to any other citizen,” explained the office of Argentine President Javier Milei, before confirming in black and white the dismissal of Garro.
