After Davies infection: do all Bayern players now have to be quarantined?

The corona chaos at Bayern just doesn’t end. With Alphonso Davies, the ninth FCB professional was infected with Covid-19 within a few days. According to current reports, all Bayern players are now threatened with bitter quarantine.

As “Sport BILD” reporter Tobias Altschäffl reports, Davies took part in the regular team training today. If the 21-year-old Canadian is affected by the Omrikon variant, the remaining Bayern players are also threatened with a 14-day quarantine. Reason: The Corona Protection Ordinance in Bavaria stipulates that people who have had close contact with Omrikon infected people must be in isolation – regardless of their vaccination status.

According to Altschäffl, the Munich health department will now decide whether the remaining FCB professionals have to be in quarantine. In this case, a game cancellation for the second half of the season against Borussia Mönchengladbach on Friday would be inevitable. The Bundesliga game against 1. FC Köln on January 15th would be on the brink.
