Luigi “Gigi” Birofio is worried about the jungle camp because of a positive corona test. There were encouraging words from Lucas Cordalis.

As broadcaster RTL announced last Saturday (January 7), Birofio tested positive for Corona using a PCR test and has been in self-isolation since then. In a video message, Cordalis now addresses constructive words to the patient: “I’m so sorry! […] The same thing happened to me last year in South Africa. You look forward to this huge jungle camp adventure for so long and then you get knocked out in the last few meters, it’s such a bad feeling.”

In particular, the feeling between “hope and fear” gnawed at Cordalis’ nerves at the time. “Maybe it still works. His participation this year is his second attempt to win the jungle crown like his late father Costa Cordalis (1944-2019) once did.

Other participants did the same in the short clip, such as Claudia Effenberg (57): “‘Gigi’ has to be there! This is a young man who will bring power to our team. He’s part of our team and I hope he gets well very, very quickly.” Influencer Jolina Mennen (30), top model Papis Loveday (46) and reality star Cecilia Asoro (25) also joined in with encouraging words .
The 16th season of “I’m a Celebrity – Get Me Out of Here!” starts on January 13th on RTL as well as via RTL+. For the first time, instead of Daniel Hartwich (44), moderator Jan Köppen (39) will be alongside jungle camp veteran Sonja Zietlow (54).
