The US actor and producer Alec Baldwin has to answer in court because of the shot at a camerawoman. A lighting technician who was on the set has filed a lawsuit.
After the death of a camerawoman while shooting a film with a Hollywood star Alec Baldwin an employee has filed a lawsuit against several parties involved. The lighting technician Serge Svetnoy accuses leading actor and producer Alec Baldwin, a young gun master and the assistant director on the set of the western “Rust” of negligent behavior.
According to the complaint published on Wednesday by the industry newspaper “Deadline.com” and other US media, Svetnoy is demanding undisclosed damages. The fatal incident is a serious emotional burden, he claims.
Police determine the cause of the missed shot
During the shoot at a film ranch in Santa Fe, New Mexico, became chief camerawoman on October 21 Halyna Hutchins (42) fatally injured and director Joel Souza (48) hit in the shoulder. Baldwin (63) had fired the gun during the rehearsal for a scene. Investigations revealed that there was a real bullet in the Colt. The police are currently investigating how this could happen.
The plaintiff asserts that the bullet shot past his face in close proximity. He had never heard such a loud shot during a shoot. He held the camerawoman lying on the floor in his arms and watched helplessly as Hutchins lay dying. In the lawsuit, he speaks of serious violations of safety regulations, such as live ammunition on the set and that Baldwin apparently aimed the gun at a person.
