After the serious rear-end collision with two buses and dozens of injuries in Regensburg, investigations have been initiated against the driver of the rear bus. As the police announced, the man is being investigated on suspicion of negligent bodily harm in several cases.
“In the course of these investigations, the exact circumstances at the time of the accident will also be examined,” said the police statement. A police spokesman said after the accident that 13 people were seriously injured in the collision between two buses on Monday evening. They were taken to hospitals. Five occupants of the vehicles were critically injured. According to a police spokeswoman, the driver of the rear bus was among them.
More than 300 emergency services – including, according to the spokeswoman, around 30 police officers, around 110 firefighters and around 170 rescue workers as well as a rescue helicopter – were on site at the accident.
