The authorities provide different information: Doctors speak of three dead and 16 injured, the Taliban, which has ruled since the summer, even of 19 dead and 50 injured.

Two explosions and skirmishes with security forces?
According to the Taliban, at least two explosions are said to have occurred, one of them at the gate to the hospital. The state news agency Bachtar reported that after the explosion at the entrance gate, according to eyewitnesses, several fighters from the terrorist militia “Islamic State” (IS) broke into the hospital and fought with security forces there.
A doctor told the AFP news agency that he had heard continuous gunfire: “I think the attackers go from room to room like the first time it was attacked,” he said, referring to an attack in 2017.
