Affordable housing: funding for 59 rental apartments – Munich district

The government of Upper Bavaria has approved subsidies in the millions for affordable housing in the district of Munich. A total of 17.7 million euros will be used to build a total of 52 rental apartments in Brunnthal, Grasbrunn, Oberschleißheim and Unterschleißheim. Of this, a total of 10.4 million euros will be paid out to the municipalities and the city as grants and 7.3 million euros will be granted as low-interest promotional loans. The total costs of all renovation and construction measures (including land) amount to a total of 34.5 million euros.

The projects are mainly used to create apartments for low-income households. Different types of apartments, from small one-room apartments to large family apartments, are intended to create socially mixed resident structures. All apartments are barrier-free and accessible. They are therefore also suitable for people with restricted mobility.

In Kirchheim, seven rental apartments are also being subsidized especially for educational staff. The government is approving 3.3 million euros for this. 1.2 million will be paid out as grants and 2.1 million granted as low-interest promotional loans.
