AfD politician attacked in Schwerin pub

An AfD member of the state parliament was attacked in Schwerin. The accused noticed a group in a bar on Mecklenburgstrasse around midnight and recognized them as AfD members. At first, the 52-year-old German insulted and insulted them, the police say. After a brief argument, the man threw a glass ashtray, hitting the deputy in the head and causing a laceration. According to NDR information, the politician is AfD member of the state parliament Martin Schmidt.

Insulting and dangerous Mayhem

Paramedics treated the wound and took the politician to the hospital – exactly how he is doing is not yet known, according to a spokesman for the AfD parliamentary group. The attacker said on site that he rejected the injured party’s political stance – that was the reason for his behavior. According to initial findings, he was under the influence of alcohol, the police spokesman continued. An investigation is now underway against him for insult and grievous bodily harm.
