The first Advent weekend in Markt Schwaben has started with a sparkling atmosphere. On Friday evening there was a “Night of Lights” in the Church of St. Margaret with prayers and songs from Taizé. Traditionally, prayer meetings are held in many places in preparation for the European Youth Meeting of the Taizé Community. In Munich there is usually a central celebration in the Liebfrauendom. Due to the measures to contain the corona pandemic, this year there was a “Night of Lights” at various locations in compliance with the infection protection concepts for church services. The prayer meetings were prepared by volunteers, they are aimed in particular at teenagers and young adults from all Christian denominations with songs, texts, prayers and in the silence by candlelight to celebrate the beginning of Advent.
