Administrative community Glonn: Better public transport connection for the south – Ebersberg

Call taxis have been on the road in the southern district of Ebersberg since the MVV timetable change in mid-December. District Administrator Robert Niedergesäß (CSU) has now tested the new local public transport offer together with the mayors of the affected communities in the Glonn administrative community. There are a total of three lines that connect rural communities much better to local public transport – also and especially at night and at weekends. The district office now points this out in a press release.

“With the on-call taxis, the possibilities of being mobile by public transport are noticeably improving for the citizens of the southern district. We are thus making further progress towards the goal of enabling mobility beyond individual transport 24 hours a day, seven days a week to be able to,” said the district administrator. And further: “We are creating an offer across the board that will now also reach areas of the district that have not been served by public transport up to now. Especially the still insufficiently developed rural areas will be able to benefit from the new call taxi.” The implementation is part of the local transport plan adopted by the district council in 2019 on the initiative of the district administrator. If the new system proves itself in the southern district, further call taxi lines are planned for the future.

122 passengers took advantage of the offer in the very first week

The mayor of Glonn, Josef Oswald, describes the offer as an “enormous improvement in local public transport for the VG Glonn”. So it is now “realistically possible to visit events in Munich by public transport and to get home again by public transport”. And the offer seems to be well received: the MVV has already reported 92 successfully completed journeys with 122 passengers for the past first week.

The call taxi lines have the designations 4000, 4800 and 4900. Line 4000 connects Egmating, Glonn and Baiern with the S-Bahn in Aying from Monday to Friday from 5.30 a.m. to 11 p.m. The 4800 runs daily at night between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. from Grafing station to Bruck, Moosach, Glonn and Baiern. Line 4900 runs between Neuperlach Süd, Zorneding, Oberpframmern, Egmating, Glonn and Baiern – from Monday to Friday at night from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. On weekends, the service on this route is available all day.

You can book a call taxi quite easily via the app or by telephone. The meeting point is an MVV stop or a stop specially set up for the call taxi. The lead time is between 30 and 60 minutes. There are no additional costs. The MVV tariff applies.
