Actress Pilar Bardem has died at 82



The Bardem family is in mourning and with it the Spanish cinema. Actress Pilar Bardem, mother of Javier Bardem, died on Saturday at the age of 82, her children announced on social media.

“We want to share the news that Pilar Bardem, our mother, our example, has passed away. She left in peace, without suffering and surrounded by the love of her family, ”wrote her children Carlos, Monica and Javier in a message published Saturday evening on Carlos’ Twitter account.

A Goya Prize in 1995

Born in Seville in 1939, Pilar Bardem was the daughter of a couple of actors and the sister of the famous filmmaker Juan Antonio Bardem. His three children also devoted themselves to the profession of actor, reaching, in the case of Javier, international fame with the Oscar for his role in No Country for Old Man of the Coen brothers. With dozens of films, plays and series, Pilar has had a solid career in Spain, where she won a Goya Award for Best Supporting Actress for No one will talk about us when we’re dead in 1995.
