He is one of the most interesting actors of his generation. Now Albrecht Schuch is receiving an award at the Film Festival Cologne.

Actor Albrecht Schuch, shooting star of the German film and television world, is awarded a prize in Cologne for his performance as an actor.

The 36-year-old will receive the so-called International Actors Award 2021 as part of this year’s Film Festival Cologne, the organizers announced on Friday. The award for one of “currently the most versatile and exciting actors in the country” is endowed with 10,000 euros. In 2020 the German actress Sandra Hüller (43) and the Danish film star Mads Mikkelsen (55) received the award.

The Film Festival Cologne, which was founded in 1991 – formerly known as the Cologne Conference – will take place from October 21 to 28 this year. It shows new productions from the German and international film and television market.

Schuch has already won several awards in recent years. He became known for his roles in the drama “Systemsprenger” and in the literary film adaptation “Berlin Alexanderplatz”. Schuch was born in Jena, his sister Karoline is also an actress.
