The Briton himself said he was once considered to play the role of Superman. However, when he looked in the mirror during the costume fitting, he decided against the role.

Hollywood actor Jude Law says he once decided against the role of Superman when he saw himself in the superhero costume. “I tried it on and looked in the mirror,” the 51-year-old said in the podcast “The Discourse.” Part of him was excited by the sight, the Brit admitted. “And then I just thought: ‘No, you can’t do that.'” He added: “I couldn’t sell myself to myself.”

The actor said he was considered for director Brett Ratner’s role as Superman, but the film never came to fruition anyway.

He said that the role of Clark Kent didn’t feel right for him even before he tried on the costume. But looking back, as a “50-year-old guy” today, he thinks he might have enjoyed filming.

Most recently, British actor Henry Cavill flew across the cinema screens as Superman. For the next planned “Superman” adventure, director James Gunn is bringing US actor David Corenswet in front of the camera.
