Accidents: Student pilot dies in light aircraft crash

A 58-year-old student pilot died when a light aircraft crashed in the North Rhine-Westphalian community of Hünxe. After the crash in a forest in the immediate vicinity of the “Schwarze Heide” airfield on Friday evening around 6:05 p.m., the 73-year-old flight instructor from Erkrath near Düsseldorf was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries, as the responsible public prosecutor’s office in Duisburg and the police announced.
