Cycling without a helmet, driving with alcohol: The police warn of these traffic offenses in view of two accidents at the weekend. An 81-year-old was seriously injured when he suddenly switched from the cycle path on the Munich Ring to the lane for motorists in Unterschleißheim at around 1.40 p.m. on Friday and collided with the car of a 35-year-old driving on the Munich Ring in the same direction. The cyclist fell over the hood onto the road and sustained head injuries, among other things. He was taken to a hospital for further medical treatment. Younger people and an 84-year-old were also involved in an accident on Friday around 6 p.m. in Haar. This time, however, the blame lay with the drunk 46-year-old at the wheel of a Fiat. He drove down Wasserburger Strasse out of town and at the level of Leibstrasse, unbraked, onto an Opel belonging to an 84-year-old who was stopping there at the red traffic light. All vehicle occupants were injured, some of them had to be taken to hospitals. The 46-year-old was drunk, he is reported, among other things, for negligent bodily harm and endangering road traffic.
