In Munich, a pensioner was hit and killed by a freight train at a level crossing on Lerchenauer Strasse. As the fire department announced, the 89-year-old wanted to cross the tracks on foot around 11 a.m. on Thursday.
Despite emergency braking of the train, she was caught. The rescue workers could do nothing more for her. The police are now investigating the cause of the accident.
