Absurd argument about two wind turbines – politics

Researchers want to find out how birds can be better protected from rotor blades. Of all people, conservationists want to prevent that. The case sheds an unusual light on a few fundamental problems of the energy transition.

For conservationists it is a dilemma: Climate change poses a threat to the survival of many animal and plant species. To stop it, wind turbines must be built that intervene in the habitat of animals. There is also a danger from wind turbines: It happens again and again that birds and bats collide with the rotor blades. Now researchers want to work with a test facility on the Swabian Alb to minimize this risk and reduce the number of animals dying. But conservationists of all people want to prevent that. The Association of Nature Conservation Initiative eV from Rhineland-Palatinate has filed a lawsuit against the test field.
