A woman suspected of having uttered racist insults against a cashier in a Carrefour store in Annemasse (Haute-Savoie) was taken into custody, we learned from the prosecutor on Tuesday evening by Thonon.

“The accused person, summoned today by the investigators, presented himself to the police station at the end of the afternoon. She was taken into custody, ”says Bruno Badré.

The Carrefour supermarket chain announced on Saturday that it was filing a complaint after a cashier in the group was the target of racist insults by a customer, according to a video posted on social networks. “Solidarity with our injured colleague. These racist remarks are unacceptable. We condemn them very strongly and file a complaint, ”the sign tweeted.

“Dirty negress go, dirty black woman!” Only black people can do that. You see Africans like you, it makes you want to kill them, ”we could hear on the video posted on Twitter.

On Saturday, an audio message attributed to the accused client was broadcast on the same social network in which she explains that she herself was insulted by the cashier, while denying herself to be racist.

“I am of Muslim conviction, I am African like her (the cashier), but the problem is that they must stop hiding behind their pseudo-racism, while they are the ones who attack people” , she says.

The mayor of Annemasse, Christian Dupessey (PS) had said this weekend his “total condemnation of racist remarks”, while launching “a call for calm on social networks”.
