The day after the explosion which affected the 5th arrondissement of Paris, the firefighters had to intervene in force in Chambéry. This Thursday, around 12:30 p.m., a major fire broke out in a parking lot in the Covet district, in this town in Savoie, reports France Blue.
A hundred inhabitants had to be evacuated because of the fire and 12 machines and 60 firefighters had to be mobilized. The provisional toll is 19 slightly injured, affected by the smoke.

The very impressive explosions heard by residents would have been caused by vehicles in the underground car park. Under the effect of the heat, the tires of the cars burst. The fire was contained by early afternoon. The origin of the flames has not yet been determined.
However, an investigation has been opened for damage to property by fire, according to the public prosecutor, quoted by France Bleu. For their part, the evacuated inhabitants were unable to return to their homes, but a room was opened in the district town hall, place Grenette, to accommodate the evacuees.
