The town hall of Ouveillan (Aude), near Narbonne, said its intention to file a complaint, after the discovery of a swastika on its facade on Wednesday. “The mayor, the entire municipal team and the municipal staff strongly condemn this act, which goes against the republican values that Ouveillan has always held high”, indicates the town hall, directed for two years by Jean-Paul Chaluleau (without label). “Values that have contributed to the reputation of the town, in particular through all the solidarity actions carried out in recent decades”, in particular the famous Harvest of the Heart, for the Restos du Coeur.
During the night of Tuesday to Wednesday, a public garden was also ransacked, and an olive tree stolen. “These lamentable acts will not cause the municipality and all goodwill to deviate from a common objective, living well together in tolerance,” writes the city.
