A “sea rush” sweeps the coast and does some damage

Placed in yellow wave-submersion vigilance until Wednesday noon, the coast of the Alpes-Maritimes was indeed swept away by this episode of strong swell. From Cannes to Menton, via the Principality of Monaco, some damage is to be reported. A light injury is even to be deplored in Nice. Hit by a wave, a municipal police officer had to be taken care of by firefighters and taken to hospital.

In the capital of the Côte d’Azur, where the seaside had been prohibited for pedestrians and cyclists, the André-Liautaud tunnel, invaded by waste transported by the sea, had to be partially closed in the morning.

In Cannes, Antibes, Cagnes-sur-Mer or even Menton, certain axes, covered with pebbles or sand, also had to be cleared by the agents of the communities.
