A saleswoman admits to having drawn nearly 10,000 euros from the cash register of her clothing store

She had financial problems, she explained to the police. And the money was at hand. A 39-year-old saleswoman admitted Thursday, when summoned to the Toulouse police station, to have stolen nearly 10,000 euros from the cash register of the ready-to-wear shop which employed her in the hypercenter of the Pink City.

The facts date back to the period from August 2021 to February 2022. The employee regularly stole banknotes from the cash drawer or from the receipt that she was sometimes responsible for depositing at the bank. The “withdrawals” were so numerous that the difference between the turnover and the bank deposits ended up alerting the bosses.

They ended up confusing this indelicate employee and firing her on the spot, before filing a complaint. From a police source, if she recognized the thefts, the saleswoman seemed surprised by the overall sum they represent. Brought before the prosecution on Friday morning, she should be summoned soon before the criminal court.
