A “safety exercise” to test the emergency services in the tram tunnel

The residents who live around the “Port Lympia”, “Garibaldi le Château” and “Durandy” stations of line 2 of the Nice tram will be able to “witness unusual movements such as large groups of relief and law enforcement agencies” , warns the prefecture of the Alpes-Maritimes. On Wednesday, at 11 p.m., a safety drill will take place in the line tunnel. The stations and the surroundings “will be inaccessible to the public to make the exercise completely safe”.

The authorities ask the population “to avoid the area” during the test, not to encumber the police and emergency services with telephone calls, “not to relay false rumors or false information about social networks ”and“ not to take photos or videos of the exercise ”. Substitution lines will be put in place to maintain continuity of service.
