A popular rescue mobile grocery store burned down on New Year’s Eve

The kind of gesture that disgusts. The person in charge of the Secours populaire of Villeneuve d’Ascq, in the North, noted, on the evening of New Year’s Eve, the destruction by arson of a van which was used as a mobile grocery store, reports The voice of the North. The vehicle was in Villeneuve d’Ascq, opposite a grocery store run by the charity.

Food aid tour canceled

The man was alerted by neighbors. “The driver’s door was forced open. They did a little digging and as they found nothing of interest, they set fire to it,” he complained to the regional daily.

The vehicle was used to conduct food aid rounds in the surrounding towns. Tuesday’s is already canceled. About fifty volunteers accompany around 1,400 families, within the Villeneuve d’Ascq branch.
