A new police station for the 13th and 14th arrondissements in 2024

This Saturday, crosses Pâquerettes (Marseille 13), Gérald Darmanin presented the site which will see the construction of a new police station, reports Provence. This vacant lot, close to the Saint-Jérôme university campus and the BHLS terminal, has the advantage of already being well served by public transport. The construction of this police station, which should open in 2024, has been requested for a long time by elected officials and residents of the 13th and 14th arrondissements.

1,700 m2 for a hundred police officers

The Department and the Metropolis sold for a symbolic euro this land of 10,000 m2, worth 8 million euros. The future premises of 1,700 m2 will benefit from 9 million euros financed by the State, and one million euros by the Region. A hundred police officers will be able to invest them by 2024. The current police station in Le Merlan, in the 14th, will remain open and retain its staff.
