A mysterious 34-core Raptor Lake-S is the talk of the town

The new Raptor Lake processor architecture has not revealed all its secrets. A possible processor equipped with 34 cores is mentioned. Explanations.

When formalizing its Core processors from 13th generation, Intel presented a showcase, the Core i9-13900K (KS) equipped with 8 P-Cores and 16 E-Cores for a total of 24 physics. It appears that this is not a maximum for the Raptor Lake architecture. Another processor family is possible with a maximum of 34 cores.

This is the conclusion of our colleague Tom’s Hardware following a brief visit to the Intel stand during the “Innovation” event. The processor giant has exposed a “Raptor Lake” Wafer to everyone’s eyes. The latter had cutouts for dies containing a maximum of 34 hearts. In addition, his hearts all had the same sizes suggesting that it is 34 P-Cores. Finally on the back of the Wafer a label indicated “Raptor Lake-S, 34 hearts”.

All this suggests that Intel may be planning to renew its HEDT offering with the launch of solutions based on the architecture of the 13th Core generation.
