It is a spectacle that we have seen regularly for a few weeks in Lyon and which exasperates the authorities. Disguised as Daltons, characters from the comic strip Lucky luke, rappers – of the same name – engage in urban rodeos. On the photos and videos posted on the collective’s Instagram account, we can see the bikers, hooded and masked, dressed in yellow and black, making fun of the police.
One of these “Daltons” was arrested in the 7th arrondissement, indicates the prefecture, while two other motorcyclists are on the run after a rodeo started on the banks of the Rhône at 6 pm, before passing in particular by Place Bellecour and the Perrache sector. On Twitter, the Rhône prefecture denounced “irresponsible behavior”. “These individuals carry no message. They are delinquents, ”she added. “I strongly condemn the rodeo held in the city center today. It is intolerable that the population is exposed to such risks ”, reacted on Twitter the EELV mayor of Lyon, Grégory Doucet.
This is not the first time that this collective has been talked about. Last Saturday, the police had already arrested three “Daltons”, who are to be tried on November 26. At the end of August, another member of the “Dalton”, who was accused of having organized four rodeos in the 8th arrondissement and on the ring road between February 14 and June 17, was sentenced to nine months in prison. Mehdi Fiad, 30 years old, alias “Many GT”, had assured that it was about filming of clips.
An important device has been put in place to hunt bikers. Also on the collective’s Instagram account, we can see on several videos a police helicopter flying over the Bellecour district in search of them. Yesterday, the prefecture had also banned “wild gatherings” of large cars and motorcycles in three towns in the Lyon suburbs, where precedents have gathered hundreds of people in recent weeks.
