A 24-year-old young man was shot dead on Christmas night, in a sensitive area of Nice, we learned from the city’s public prosecutor’s office on Saturday. The facts occurred shortly after midnight in the district of Las Planas located north of the city, he said, confirming information from the local television channel.

The author of the fatal shot fled with accomplices in a vehicle later found in Cagnes-sur-Mer. They are currently wanted.
No leads at this stage
The victim was not known to the justice services, said the prosecution which opened an investigation for murder in an organized gang, entrusted to the judicial police of Nice. A woman, a family member of the victim who arrived at the scene shortly after, was taken to hospital in shock.
At this stage, justice does not favor any lead, the investigation is only just beginning and all the witnesses have not yet been heard. A police source emits the hypothesis of a conflict with young people from another sensitive district of Nice.
