A hunter soon to be tried for shooting a cyclist

A hunter will be tried on June 12 before the Rennes police court for “unintentional injuries”, we learned from the Rennes prosecutor’s office. The man is accused of having accidentally shot a cyclist who was walking near the Bouëxière forest on October 23. The hunter had confessed to shooting after his dog lifted a partridge. He immediately apologized to the victim who had received three pellets in the brow bone, forearm and torso.

Hospitalized for a few days, the cyclist had filed a complaint and an investigation had been opened. Led by the gendarmerie brigade of Châteaugiron and by the services of the French Office for Biodiversity in Ille-et-Vilaine, it had allowed the seizure of the rifle used during the facts. While waiting for his appearance, the hunter had his hunting license suspended for a period of six months, specifies the parquet floor of Rennes.
