A gas leak was “under control but not stopped” this Sunday evening in a factory classified Seveso high threshold in Isère, south of
Vienna, announced the prefecture, which however reports a toxicity “equal to zero”. The gas leak was triggered Sunday afternoon on the Adisseo site (animal feed manufacturer) in Saint-Clair-du-Rhône, triggering the shutdown of the installations, the authorities said.
“The results of the toxicity measurements made by the company at the edge of the site are equal to zero”, and the firefighters confirmed this analysis, adds the prefecture in a press release. “No negative effect is, at this stage, feared on the local population and on the environment”, the same source specifies.
“As the leak cannot be stopped in the short term, the gas escaping should continue overnight,” notes the Prefecture of Isère.
