a fire under a Parisian bridge, traffic interrupted

The smoke is visible from a large part of the south of the capital. A fire is in progress this Monday morning under the National Bridge, in the 13th arrondissement of Paris, we learned from the fire brigade. Traffic is fully closed on the bridge and on the Porte de Bercy interchange. The mayor of the borough, Jérôme Coumet, adds in a tweet that the circulation of the T3A tramway is interrupted.

The fire started around 5 a.m. when a van caught fire. It was quickly extinguished but the flames spread to a set of technical ducts present under the bridge, said the firefighters. In particular, they contain equipment for the district heating network, electricity and gas. Specialists are on site to identify the source of the fire.

No injuries were to be deplored and the bridge was not at risk of collapsing.
