A driver pursued by the police from Val-de-Marne crashed into the car of a family in Aulnay-sous-Bois (Seine-Saint-Denis) on the night of Saturday to Sunday, killing two and two seriously injured, said the Bobigny prosecutor’s office.

The young man had been “chased by an anti-crime brigade from Champigny-sur-Marne” (Val-de-Marne) following a refusal to comply, explained this source, confirming information from the Parisian.

Under the influence of drugs and alcohol

At around 1 a.m., he left the motorway and took the Human Rights roundabout in Aulnay-sous-Bois. “He burned a red light and hit a vehicle that contained four people” from the same family, continued the prosecution. The mother and a 3-year-old son died on the spot, while the father and a 7-year-old girl were taken to hospital in serious condition, he added.

The accident had already occurred when the BAC in turn arrived on the scene, also said the prosecution, specifying that the driver had been arrested by other personnel of the national police. Aged 27 and unknown to justice, he was under the influence of alcohol and drugs at the time of the facts. An investigation for manslaughter was opened, entrusted to the local police station.
