A lifeless body was discovered on Wednesday at the home of Aurélie Vaquier, a 39-year-old woman, missing since February 23, in the Hérault, said Raphaël Balland, the public prosecutor of Béziers.

The corpse was found hidden under a concrete slab, by gendarmes, as part of a rogatory commission from the investigating magistrate. The soldiers were notably equipped with a search dog for missing persons and a radar allowing the sounding of floors and partitions.

The body has not been formally identified

“The technicians in criminal investigation of the Montpellier gendarmerie group proceed to the meticulous extraction of the body which is not yet formally identified and a forensic doctor is on site”, indicated the prosecutor at the beginning of the afternoon. . Shortly after 6 pm, the magistrate specified that the body found was “very probably” that of the missing woman.

Aurélie Vaquier’s companion, a 39-year-old man, who still resides at the couple’s home, was taken into custody at the end of the morning.

On February 23, the Bédarieux gendarmerie had been informed by his companion of the worrying disappearance of the thirty-something. An investigation had been opened and the numerous beatings, organized in the area, had not made it possible to find her.
