A 31-year-old man, known to the police, was shot and killed Friday evening in a city north of Marseille, we learned on Saturday from firefighters and police sources. Around 11:15 p.m., detonations were heard in the street in the 15th arrondissement district of Notre-Dame Limite. When the police arrived, an unconscious man, seriously injured by a bullet, was found at the entrance of a residence. He died on the spot despite the intervention of the emergency services.

In 2021, 15 people were killed in settling scores related to drug trafficking, according to a tally by the Marseille police headquarters, compared to 12 in 2020 and 10 in 2019. And Wednesday evening, in another northern district of the city, an 18-year-old young man had been killed by a burst of automatic weapon fired from a car which immediately fled. A 17-year-old minor who accompanied him had also been injured in the leg.
