The number of recorded properties used by right-wing extremists has almost doubled since 2017. A trend is emerging as to where these are particularly frequently located.
According to the report, in 2022, 61 percent of the 210 properties used by right-wing extremists nationwide were located in the federal states of Thuringia, Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt, Brandenburg, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and Berlin. As early as 2020, the eastern German states had agreed to exchange more information on this topic as part of a security cooperation. A handout has now been created that describes the situation. It also contains recommendations for those responsible in the municipalities and private property owners on how to prevent attempts to buy.
