The art educator Ute Meta Bauer, born in Stuttgart in 1958, has been working internationally for a long time – as a professor at MIT and as a curator in Venice, Oslo and São Paulo. Since 2013 she has been director of the Center for Contemporary Art (CCA) in Singapore. Now she sits in a workshop room on a former industrial site where the Saudi capital Riyadh turns into desert. The second “Diriyah Contemporary Art Biennale” curated by her opens here – after the first had to take place under the influence of the pandemic, hopes and expectations are now high: under the title “After Rain” there are 117 works by 100 artists until May 24th and artists to see.
