The Archdiocese of Munich and Freising is currently developing a strategy to get rid of some of its approximately 4,000 churches and chapels, parish homes and vicarages. The base can have a say, while in the case of church residential real estate, decisions are apparently made over the heads of those affected: the ordinariate has given the tenants of the house at Nußbaumstraße 30 the prospect of termination – because of general renovation. Many residents are current or former employees of the archdiocese and some are over 80 years old.
