Our village was an hour’s drive from Munich, but the big city was much further away from the village. When visitors came from Munich, they were received here with a little skepticism because they lived in the confusing city, but also respected because they survived there. Only a few young people in the village understood that they voluntarily lived in a hectic and built-up environment. Most would have missed the peace and nature of their home in the city. They were very proud of both.
