At the entrance to the Neubiberg tunnel in the direction of Salzburg, a 35-year-old truck driver on the A8 near Unterhaching tore off 18 lamps from the ceiling with his team on Tuesday. When loading the vehicle with a mini excavator, the driver forgot to retract the excavator’s boom, thereby exceeding the maximum yardage of four meters permitted on German autobahns by 40 centimetres. The cars of an 81-year-old from the district of Rosenheim and a 28-year-old from Munich were damaged by the flying debris. According to the police, the total damage amounts to more than 90,000 euros.
