Refugees: A village in Saxony is struggling with migration – politics

The Saxons and the refugees, a difficult topic, also in Wehrsdorf. People like Katharina Groß fight here with angry citizens, but above all: with the authorities.

Of

Constanze von Bullion, Wehrsdorf

It’s already evening and the cold is creeping into the village when this inner restlessness drives them out of the house again. She has already spent half the day in the home, now she wants to go there again. She promised people she would. And besides – all that grief up there. Katharina Groß pulls her anorak over her narrow shoulders and starts running at a pace she can’t slow down. “Hypocrisy,” she says as she reaches the main street outside. It sounds angry. Because again nobody helps, at least nobody from the office.
