78 customers of a nightclub positive for Covid-19

Seventy-eight cases of Covid-19 have been “identified” among people who attended a nightclub in downtown Lille around July 14, reports the Hauts-de-France Regional Health Agency in a published press release this Saturday. “The contact tracing carried out by the Health Insurance and ARS from the six cases initially declared thus revealed a rapid chain of contamination, considering both the large number of people who participated in these evenings and the festive context inherent in this type of establishment, ”continues the ARS.

“The current screening reveals a mutation suggestive of the Delta variant,” the agency said. “The registration of the identity and telephone number of customers” of the Room, between July 13 and 17, by the management of the nightclub “allows the Health Insurance to continue contact tracing”, adds the ARS , which “strongly urges” all customers to “limit their social interactions while awaiting the results” of a test.

All those who tested positive were “invited to strict isolation for 10 days”. The ARS “reminds the operators of festive places in particular of the importance of ventilating the premises”.

In addition to the reminder book, discotheques have been subject to the health pass since their reopening on July 9.
