74-year-old ex-soldier wants to row across the Atlantic by himself

See in the video: 74-year-old ex-soldier wants to row across the Atlantic by himself.

2022 is here, but then he’ll be gone. On New Years Day, Jean-Jacques Savin set out to cross the Atlantic, alone in his canoe. The 74-year-old Frenchman set sail from Sagres in Portugal. After 90 days of constant paddling routine, he wants to reach the Caribbean with his orange eight-meter boat, according to the plan. Savin had already completed a similar Atlantic adventure in 2019, when he was drifting across the ocean in a three-meter-long barrel. This time the ex-soldier took around 300 kilograms of supplies, including a bottle of champagne for his 75th birthday in mid-January, alone at sea.
