Around 4:30 p.m., the little boy was at the foot of his building in the Sablons district, and had to go across the street to a playground. It was there that he was run over by a car, whose driver fled. Quickly taken care of by the emergency services, the boy died on the way to the hospital.
The driver of the car, which was driving at high speed, was still wanted on Tuesday, and an investigation has been opened to identify him and determine the circumstances of the collision. The driver is “a male of African descent with dreadlocks, 30 to 40 years old and possibly with a child on board”, writes Le Figaro.
The police are appealing for witnesses to find the motorist who hit the little boy on rue de Mauritanie near the intersection with rue de Pologne, before fleeing towards rue de l’Estérel.
