30th Bundesliga matchday: Hertha hopes, BVB shoots, Stuttgart without juice

After an exhilarating football performance, Borussia Dortmund can plan to take part in the Champions League. The dream debut of 17-year-old Tom Rothe and Erling Haaland’s brace were highlights in the confident 6-1 (5-0) win over VfL Wolfsburg.

With a twelve-point lead and a significantly better goal difference, BVB can only theoretically gamble away their Champions League participation in the last four games. Wolfsburg’s lead over the relegation place could shrink to as little as five points on Sunday after the highest half-time deficit in the club’s 25-year Bundesliga history.

Fight for Bundesliga relegation place

Sport-Club Freiburg won 3-0 (2-0) against VfL Bochum. In the fight against relegation, Hertha BSC made up a place by beating FC Augsburg 1-0 (0-0) and left the relegation rank that VfB Stuttgart now occupies. The Swabians couldn’t get past a 0-0 draw at FSV Mainz 05.
