The team of suspended coach Tim Walter did not get past a 0-0 draw against Holstein Kiel. As a result, HSV fell back to third place after 25 games, at least until late in the evening.
Fourth-placed SC Paderborn, on the other hand, has little chance of promotion after the 0-1 (0-0) loss at Jahn Regensburg. The gap between fourth and HSV is already nine points. In the middle of the table, SpVgg Greuther Fürth also managed to win 3-0 (0-0) against 1. FC Magdeburg.
