Back to the old mode!
In the coming season, the games in the 2nd league will be kicked off on Saturdays at 1.00 p.m. instead of 1.30 p.m.
This was announced by the German Football League (DFL) in a statement.
After just one season, the DFL is thus returning to the kick-off time that has been tried and tested for twelve years.
The reason: Due to the earlier kick-off time, the 2nd league is over before the Bundesliga begins. A number of games were still going on this season while the Bundesliga kicked off.
According to the DFL, the league made a positive statement about the change. The transferring partner Sky has also given its approval.
The Saturday night game remains at 8:30 p.m.
The new season starts this year on July 15th.
